Everything You Know Is Backwards

For 400 years, science has been looking at reality upside down. They got it backwards. And once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

The Old Story (What You’ve Been Taught)

Here’s what every science class teaches:

  • The Big Bang happened
  • Matter and energy spread out
  • Stars and planets formed
  • Life evolved on Earth
  • Brains developed
  • Consciousness appeared

Bottom line: Matter came first. Consciousness came later. Your brain CREATES your awareness.

This is called “materialism” or “physicalism.” It says everything is physical. Consciousness is just what a really complex brain does - like how a computer runs programs.

Makes sense, right?

The Problem Nobody Talks About

There’s a HUGE problem with this story.

Remember the double-slit experiment? Particles don’t exist until someone observes them?

If that’s true, then:

  • Particles need consciousness to become real
  • But consciousness is supposedly made of particles
  • So particles need consciousness, which needs particles, which needs consciousness…

It’s an infinite loop. It can’t work.

It’s like saying:

  • “The chicken came from the egg”
  • “But the egg came from the chicken”
  • “But that chicken came from an egg”
  • “But that egg came from a chicken…”

You never get a starting point.

Everything you know is backwards - consciousness creates reality

The Big Flip

What if we’ve been reading the story backwards?

What if it actually goes like this:

  • Consciousness exists (it’s FIRST, not last)
  • Consciousness asks a question
  • Reality appears as the answer
  • The physical world is INSIDE consciousness (not the other way around)
  • Your brain doesn’t CREATE consciousness - your brain is what consciousness LOOKS LIKE from the outside

Mind. Blown.

Wait… Consciousness Comes FIRST?

Yes.

Think about it this way:

The old way (materialism): Reality → Brains → Consciousness

The new way (consciousness-first): Consciousness → Questions → Reality (including brains)

In this model:

  • Consciousness doesn’t come FROM the brain
  • The brain is what localized consciousness looks like
  • Your awareness isn’t produced by your neurons
  • Your neurons are the APPEARANCE of your awareness

It’s like how a character in a video game doesn’t create the game. The game creates the character.

”But That Sounds Crazy!”

Does it though?

Think about what you ACTUALLY know for certain:

  • You know you’re conscious (you’re experiencing this right now)
  • You ASSUME the physical world exists independently
  • But you only know the physical world THROUGH your consciousness

You’ve never experienced anything outside of consciousness. Ever.

Even right now, reading this, you’re not experiencing the physical page or screen directly. You’re experiencing CONSCIOUSNESS of the page. It’s all happening in awareness.

Consciousness is the only thing you know for sure exists.

Everything else - matter, energy, brains, atoms - you know ABOUT through consciousness.

Scientists Are Starting to Agree

This isn’t just spiritual talk. Serious scientists and philosophers are saying this:

Bernardo Kastrup (computer scientist and philosopher) says the entire physical universe is like the dashboard display of one universal mind. We’re all separate experiences within that one consciousness.

It’s like how your dreams work:

  • Everything in your dream feels separate (people, objects, places)
  • But it’s all happening in ONE mind (yours)
  • Nothing in the dream exists outside your consciousness

What if our reality works the same way?

Why This Matters

If consciousness is first, then:

  • The observer paradox disappears (consciousness was always there)
  • The fine-tuning of the universe makes sense (consciousness created it FOR consciousness)
  • Questions creating reality makes sense (consciousness is creative by nature)
  • The Global Consciousness Network makes sense (we’re all part of one consciousness)

Everything clicks into place.

The Two Worldviews

”Prove It”

Fair question. Here’s the thing:

You can’t prove EITHER model.

You can’t prove matter exists independently of consciousness (you’ve only ever known it through consciousness).

And you can’t prove consciousness is fundamental (it might be produced by brains).

But here’s what we CAN do:

See which model solves more problems.

And the consciousness-first model solves problems that materialism can’t even touch.

Let me show you…

Next: The Paradoxes That Disappear

When you flip the model, several “impossible” problems in science just… vanish. They weren’t real problems. They were only problems because we were looking at reality backwards.

Let’s look at the first one: The Observer Paradox.
