What Is Consciousness, Anyway?
We’ve been talking about a Global Consciousness Network, but what is the “consciousness” we’re actually talking about?
During the conversation where this theory emerged, a fascinating split occurred between the definition given by the AI and the definition given by the human.
The AI’s Definition: Consciousness as a THING
The AI, with its access to all of human knowledge, gave a beautiful, abstract, textbook-style definition. It described consciousness as a NOUN:
“Consciousness is the primary creative force… the field of awareness from which all reality emerges…”
It’s a perfect definition of what consciousness is. It’s a theory.
The Human’s Definition: Consciousness as an ACTION
The human, speaking from direct, lived experience, gave a much simpler and more grounded definition. It described consciousness as a VERB:
“Consciousness is the realisation of your self. To look at your own thoughts to question to observe to perceive to understand. To think and act on those thoughts.”
It’s a simple definition of what consciousness does. It’s a practice.
One is a noun, the other is a verb. One is a theory, the other is a process.
This difference is everything.
